KIM GRIFFIN

Kim was born Kimberly Parker Green in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to what is known as the “Oregon Trail Generation” - the years when the internet was jusssssst starting to show up via colorful CD’s sent by AOL to homes across the country sets this mini-generation solidly in between Gen X and Millenials. Kim identifies as a Gen X-er, but has the sensitive snowflakey soul of a Millenial. 

Born with a preternatural ability to memorize entire scenes from movies in one sitting, and an uncanny ear for dialects and funny voices, it was inevitable that she would one day become completely fed up with waiting to be asked to share and take things - like mics - into her own hands. Kim has way too much actor training, is a phenomenal theatre educator, and has become a full-throated advocate for accessibility and inclusion since her children arrived on the scene and started showing her what really matters in life: taking care of each other. 

After moving to LA, in an effort to find out what was going on with her son, and struggling to find ways to support him, she was diagnosed as being in a dissociative state, and began intensive EMDR therapy to work through birth-related trauma. This led to massive discoveries about the realities of growing up in a dysfunctional home, as well as the cyclical nature of trauma. Kim is an adult living with ADHD, depression and anxiety, parenting two children with special needs, and wants to speak openly about the experiences that have shaped her life in hopes that it may shine a light on a path toward healing for someone else. Off the Fucking Rails has been a complete departure for her, challenging her to learn more new platforms and skills than she could have imagined possible.
