JARED ALEXANDER

Jared Alexander is a Black and gay actor, writer and aspiring real housewife based in NYC.  Originally from Connecticut, Jared has loved storytelling his entire life, from epic melodramas he directed with his Power Ranger toys (the cliffhangers were out of this world), to eventually studying Theatre at Regional Center for the Arts, a Performing Arts Magnet High School in Trumbull, Connecticut.  This led him to Point Park University where he pursued his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre.  While there, the fates aligned when he was assigned Kim as his Junior year Shakespeare teacher, and has enjoyed her awesome and caring personality in his life ever since.

In the years since graduating, Jared moved to the Big Apple to pursue his dream (a completely original and novel concept).  Since then, he has been fortunate enough to perform across the country regionally, as well as join the First National Tour of Spamilton: An American Parody last Fall.  Outside of acting, Jared is a freelance culture writer for various publications, from SYFY Wire, to Greatist, and Rewire.org.  He recently launched his newsletter, Pop of Jared, where he deconstructs the importance and relevance of various pop culture topics ravaging our minds daily.

His entire life, Jared has been dedicated to making himself a stronger artist through his work, advocacy and principles.  From fighting for equal rights, to pushing for representation across all forms of his artistry, he feels very fortunate to be able to use his platform and voice for the culture at large.  All of this makes joining OTFR as an Associate Producer that much sweeter.  There’s no one else he’d rather be making magic with than Kim Griffin, and he’s so excited for you all to join us on this freaking amazing ride!
